Accomplishments and Skills
Developed a new lesson format for teaching Math Superstars that focused on using hands-on manipulatives and cooperative learning groups to enhance student growth. Successfully wrote and received a grant to fund the “Math Lab.” Several teachers now use the lab to enhance student understanding of core mathematical concepts.
Wrote and awarded a grant to create a multimedia learning environment to promote distance learning and interactive field trips. The Windows to the World room is available to all teachers and a 21st century lesson was highlighted when the state superintendent visited.
Use self-made videos and audio files to enhance learning as part of a lesson, to provide supplement instruction, and to perform informal assessments.
Served on Gifted Review Team for seven years.
Promoted and managed Odyssey of the Mind teams for seven years. Odyssey of the Mind judge for seven years.
Very Tech savvy. Incorporate many technology enhancements in lessons, including the use of specialty technology equipment such as Wacom artist tablets, soundboards, digital professional microscopes and original digital photography.
